Heat Wave
The power goes out again as the city becomes restless,
Every year it gets hotter as the minds anxiety is endless
And the mayor of the city too busy looking pretty,
Just winks at the screen offering smiles with no pity
"Dont worry citizens we all have to make sacrifices,
Its the cost of electricity that comes in higher prices"
Looting and riots begin to create social insecurity
So the police lose control and call in the local military
The power goes out for days as the hospitals fill up,
and the stench fills up the streets with no garbage pickup
"The military controls the streets,
just obey and well have peace" (pause)
They file us in line as were moved into the stadium,
Standing forever in the heat, blood boils in the cranium
Were told to stay here until they get things fixed,
But another week later anxiety starts the mix
Lets see now its been 2 weeks,
Something isnt right, something stinks
Weve done what were told and keeping things tight,
But something just - doesnt seem right
The keep power at the factories where we work,
And come to soldiers who look with a smirk
My adventurous son climbs up to the top,
His eyes grow wide then grabbed by a cop
"Now listen now forget what you saw,
We dont need excitement listen to the law"
"Ill see what I can do,
to help your family out what your going through"
"In the meantime keep that trap shut,
or youll find yourself in a worse rut"
"Things could be harder if you know what I mean,
so go run along now and keep your nose clean"
When he walked down and waited for the guards to pass,
he told us he saw - the power restored to the upper class
upper class
Everything we were told were just lies amass
Protected by the upper brass
Kept away in a ceiling of glass
We were led to believe we were out of gas
And the crowd grows tense as the news spreads fast,
Hearts beating faster with thoughts left aghast
The crowd turns to mob looking for reaction,
The military grabs its guns to stop the infraction,
Poor protest needs , a need for satisfaction,
Lives put to stress , a need for a faction
What would it take for you to lose it,
When unfairness increases and forces you to submit,
The law may prevail but never break the spirit,
Income equality created the dynamite and it was lit (whisper)

I, Objector

I, Objector
Some dont mind be taken to be naive as a fool,
To sit back and disappear and let the thugs write the rule
Just enjoy the repression - popping pills and call it sane
The denial state of life wreaks stress on the brain ...and
Maybe someday later the state of things will correct itself,
Take a look at all the bad things and put them on a shelf
We all pay our taxes to help the schools and the poor,
But where does the money go, is it business or is it ours
I object, to the isolation that the cowards want to commit
I object, to the notion a society is better left split
I object, to the fear pointed at societys goodwill
I object, to the insularity - where goods dont cross armies will
And when something good does happen it gets buried in the noise,
Inflation breaking unions, working class turns to sadistic toys,
Pride turns to pain as the costs the state employs,
A destabilized society fights each other with no joy
Enough of this shit, were not going down with Windrip,
Toss all the plutocrats on board - all that ego will surely sink the ship
Redistrubute the wealth, for better mental health,
When we make our own choices a better hand of cards well be surely dealt
Trying to run the world from the top to the bottom,
The man caught behind the curtain tried to run but we surely caught em'
Laying the foundation for a society ready to rise,
Unsplit and together forming common ties and to unionize
With the throttle off ideas from new to Aristotle,
Making changes based on data works better than spin the bottle
And if the sinkhole in the ground needs to get fixed,
No distraction will be made as the need for funding will be nixed
Some dont mind be taken to be naive as a fool,
To sit back and disappear and let the thugs write the rule
Just enjoy the repression - popping pills and call it sane
The denial state of life wreaks stress on the brain ...and
Maybe someday later the state of things will correct itself,
Take a look at all the bad things and put them on a shelf
We all pay our taxes to help the schools and the poor,
But where does the money go, is it business or is it ours

I object, to the idea of insularity - where goods dont cross armies will
And when something good does happen it gets buried in the noise,
Inflation breaking unions, working class turns to sadistic toys
Pride turns to pain as the costs the state employs
A destabilized society fights each othe as the villain experiences joy

Neverending

Neverending
We watch it now - on the tv,
Absorbing the fruit from the poisonous tree
Our leader now - the main VIP,
The image of cult of the personality
The cameras are rolling - the script is written,
The speech is made as the plot gets thickened
The populist ideal is given the Blue Ribbon,
Then turns its face as democracy is forbidden
Neverending, Reality tv the horror show tradegdy
Neverending, is it fact or anecdotal fantasy
Neverending, Laundering the truth - counterfeit democracy
Neverending, a satire of freedom devalues our liberty
The switch is flipped and the bait is set,
selective data on the internet,
All the glamour and glitter onto the national debt,
Eyes look away for further amusement
The cameras zoom in on the painted face,
With bank decals tattooed from the political race,
Un-reality born in the cyberspace,
The emotions reveal truth has no place
Neverending, Reality tv the horror show tradegdy
Neverending, is it fact or anecdotal fantasy
Neverending, Laundering the truth - counterfeit democracy
Neverending, a satire of freedom devalues our liberty
The president walks out to the podium,
words lash out causing pandemonium,
The registers run wild from the speech's odium,
Advertisers glee at the social opium
And the hopes and dreams of our fate,
Dont improve of our psychological state
The distraction comes out to talk again,
reading what was written by buisnessmen
(Speech Skit)
Host - "So, Hows everybody doin' "
"Heard theres some folks downtown who dont like my message"
"So we sent a nice squad of officers and girls in bikinis with a water cannon to help cool them off" (-laughter)
Yes Man - " I heard things were getting pretty hot" (-laughter)
Host - "Lets give those hard working people a hand" (-applause)
(Neverending Story segment - narration - Prox effect)
Its a brazen new world full of hopes and dreams brought to you by our security.
If you feel your neighbor is talking unloyal - report them to us - its your authority.
Dont let the environment bring you down.
We can always live a happy life underground.
And as long as you keep the factories going and every dime is spent,
Oh dear citizen you wont have to fear the state or the need to repent.
What a bright future it is bringing light to the faithfull,
Dont step out of line - it would be very regretfull.
Just do as we say and everything gets better,
Dont want to be one of those unfortunate souls wearing the scarlett letter........And Thank you !

I Got Mine

I Got Mine
Bills line up quick, as the stress makes you sick,
try to put aspirin in the drink, so no time to stop and think
Collection at the door, dont know whats in store,
court garnishes the cash, all they see is trash
Working two more jobs, a happy life kept at odds,
and Im late with the rent, is this how a life gets spent
Kids sent to homes, the dog left out to roam,
cuff my hands to my back, the life of the anxiety attack
Its fine, I unwind, I Got Mine
So rich it makes you sick, I Got Mine
Living life in a pillow haze, I Got Mine
Its just so easy to live these days, I Got Mine
Meanwhile - in prison - life - has - stopped
Dont - know - where - the mind - is
All - the images - in - my - mind
Have - folded - far - in the corner
Guard with the stick, hit the bars, make it click,
and poor hurt the poor, another body on the floor
Taking all corners, with the race made borders,
stress made duress, how can anyone survive this mess
Years gone by later, got release from the incarcerator
with twenty bucks in my pocket, how will I ever make it
Turned down from most work, only job with a boss a jerk
try to make a living, poor life is so unforgiving
Its fine, I unwind, I Got Mine
So rich it makes you sick, I Got Mine
Living life in a pillow haze, I Got Mine
Its just so easy to live these days, I Got Mine
Class - struggle - is - a - dead end
And - if - we can stop it - maybe - we should
Laws - should protect us - but - they divide us
And - that - needs to be - today understood
The times these days, theres signs of things getting looked over
Things are moving back to serfdom after the wake of capitals
hangover
Without a new system in place to transition from one econmy to
the next
The worst of us comes out blaming each other for the mess
Putting walls between the wealthy and the poor to keep our
morals sedated
Saying theres a race war when its class struggle and hope it doesnt get investigated
We are reaching a need for change that together we can heed the warning
How long will it take to wake up from the illusion and hear your
conscience calling

Chain Debt

Chain Debt
Rents rising higher - its never worth what you get,
It cuts out all the money you could save - instead of paying off the obvious debt
And if things dont work out your lease will keep you - tethered with regret
As neighbors turn cowardly on each other instead of - looking at the source of the threat
The cars in the shop - and Im sitting here waiting,
I wonder how much will it cost - these thoughts are so frustrating
Will there be any vacation this year or will I sit by the window daydreaming
At least I can still eat - but no money to go out - it feels suffocating
Got sick and to the hospital I went, there in the waiting room,
They tell me all these tests they take only says maybe a darkness looms,
But later on I get the bill - my blood pressure shoots right up only increasing the impending doom,
And as all these bills cant get paid - all the drama only spills out into the courtroom
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but the cost of living is - getting too high
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but sooner or later - the well will run dry
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but the cost of living is - getting too high
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but sooner or later - the well will run dry
My student loans are rising higher - I might have to drop out to start paying them down,
But what jobs I can find pay little leaving with not much but a nervous breakdown,
And I try to get back in school and still have no money to go around,
And the depression of sinking failure down the sink is the only heard sound
Sitting in the waiting room in the dentists office,
They tell me the amount of work I need will take all of my resources,
The prison of debt keeps getting worse coming home to an eviction notice,
You literally pay by the rules wondering if theres any real justice
Sitting in the court room from the much debt to repay,
All my funds and resources have been spent and whittled away,
The judge orders garnishment from income taxes and paychecks by the way,
Feeling time slip ever slower - feeling the weight crush you every day
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but the cost of living is - getting too high
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but sooner or later - the well will run dry
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but the cost of living is - getting too high
Everyone these days - tries to get by - but sooner or later - the well will run dry
Debt ridden lifestyle - its beyond belief,
You could cut your hands off - but only the rich can be a thief
So as the Titanic sails off and sinks into the ocean,
The only ones who survive will be decided by wealth which are laws were set in motion
As the wells run dry and debt society gets neglected,
Situations get stressed causing tears in the fabric of society that gets infected
Stay-cations is the new norm that the economy has made,
Less money to save leaves any choices constrained
Picking what bills you can pay shuffled from the bottom of a hat,
Youd like to pay off all debts but only the lottery could give you that
Trickle down economics was suppose to keep our feet dry,
But after a little while it turns out to be just another lie
Democracy being choked from capitalisms grip,
A society must unite to make those hands slip
Tyranny from debt oppression its hard to forgive,
They say you only get as much freedom as you give

Wrath Of The Commons

Wrath Of The Commons
Walk along gladly, in the woods happily,
see the Earth around me,
in the park, in the park
Years gone later, trail junk accumulator,
less funding for the trails,
getting stark, getting stark
Park got defunded, no one knew to defend it,
it was there and gone,
from national park to industrial park
Makes you wanna snap like a thundercracker,
try to think about some other matter,
but its the only thing firing matter,
in the mind, in the mind
Voted in politician then moves in to defend it,
things dont work and people get angry and
throw a fit, throw a fit
it gets handed over to private capital for it to reinvent,
the decision of our time,
of our time, of our time,
1 out of 6 trillion spending goes to private capital
neverending,
Reagan pulled the lever for more spending,
but not for the poor, not the poor
Lets take a minute and get this straight,
you wanted to save some cash and took the bait,
kept it behind closed doors so no one resisted,
spending our money on solutions to problems that never existed
As the public contiues to starve on the road to serfdom,
where will the money come from,
in the dole?, in the dole?
Trickle down infastructure , tax money abductor,
with holes in the architecture,
no public, opinon poll
Devolution revolution, trying to sell parts of the constitution,
privatization creates another bloated institution,
breaking ground, breaking ground
A short cash fix - raise taxes or cut services,
everyhting gets scrapped so merciless,
an unmerry go round
Since private took over those lands,
robbing the people - keep washing those hands,
we find ways to take a stand,
but you have to keep a look out, and stick to a plan
Using art as protest to express ideals,
writing out concerns for a public appeal,
sure beats waiting around asn kicking ones heels,
but you have to watch out, another automobile
As buildings lay empty and evacuated,
capital ran dry and left misapproiated,
drives the local value down subjugated,
areas get depressed, and insulated
Privatization has no built in concern,
just a set of stages and a law of diminished returns,
the cleanup that comes after is unconcerned,
people will pay it out, in their income tax return
So if these buildings stay and sit empty,
why not use them to remind ourselves of our modus vivendi,
of whats left behind froma day of plenty,
but you have to watch out, the fines are hefty
Walk along gladly, in the woods happily,
see the Earth around me,
in the park, in the park
Years gone later, trail junk accumulator,
less funding for the trails,
getting stark, getting stark
Park got defunded, no one knew to defend it,

breaking ground, breaking ground
A short cash fix - raise taxes or cut services,
everyhting gets scrapped so merciless,
an unmerry go round
Robbing the future to pay for the immediate needs
of the present,
the price goes up - public money spent,
delusions of grandeur

The Last War

The Last War
The stage is set, for the next blockbuster set
The evening crow, waits for the food to show
Missiles on tv, high definition fantasy
Reflections of light, on faces bright
Television, frontal lobe circumcision
Pay per view, war cash revenue
Popcorn violence, inducing silence
A cold war, wants an encore
People take the bait and sit in seats,
cash grows quick and fills the elites,
no cars on roads and empty streets,
everyone at home with a quicking heartbeat
The livid faces rant in every direction,
spewing their hate in self-deception,
carefully controlled visual perception,
fear becomes cash - state immaculate conception
The drum beats louder and faces sweat,
a figure behind the podium a marionette,
horror show glow from the television set
How long this been going on,
old desires of violence
Increases defence spending,
public cowardice and compliance
Social instability,
paying out to any pseudoscience
Sport think politics,
state created fear of unity and alliance
Created rattle and a whip,
the baby screams it needs ownership
Russian government and internet war,
all leaders smug, they know the score
Doomsday clocked stopped ticking,
the end of freedom is their beginning
A sudden flicker of increasing silence,
the decision is made from the protected tyrant
As the dead mother feeds the baby from a sling,
Will the cold nipples be the buds of Putins spring
The war was a farce and everyone fell for it,
defence spending boom and that was the trick
With a public sedated and left captivated,
the truth to be told was left alienated
Cold war register spilling bills on the floor,
as we protest the mess, they want more money for war
And as the cash gets lost and everyone forgets,
it all reapeats itself with no time for regrets
Theatre of war, Theatre of war
Theatre of war, Theatre of war
Take the tv, tv, and turn it off
Take the tv, tv, and turn it off
Take the internet, internet, and turn it off
Take the internet, internet, and turn it off
Leave the world behind and take a walk outside,
a break from the trauma, felt grown inside,
we have too much to live for to let it all go,
so play like children and live to see the world love with every sunrise
